During the 21st century, most schools adapt in the use of technology as a highway in the process learning of students. Most students prefer using tech gadgets on learning to gain more and better knowledge to explore more in a wide range of topics. Technology eases the ability of each student to absorb every detail of the concepts being tasked to do. This gives a better view of what a certain topic and pay attention to every small detail of such processes in science related ideas.

Bhattacharjee and Deb (2020) enlisted that ICT is a part of our lives for the last few decades affecting our society as well as individual life. ICT which is now broadly used in educational world. Teacher, Student, administrator and every people related to education are popularly used ICT.  Teacher use ICT for making teaching learning process easy and interesting. A competent teacher has several skills and techniques for providing successful teaching. So development and increase of skills and competencies of teacher required knowledge of ICT and Science & Technology. In modern science and technological societies education demands more knowledge of teacher regarding ICT and skills to use ICT in teaching and learning process. The knowledge of ICT also required for pre-service teacher during their training programme, because this integrated technological knowledge helps a prospective teacher to know the world of technology in a better way by which it can be applied in future for the betterment of the students. Nowadays ICT’s are transforming schools and classrooms a new look by bringing in new curriculum based on real world problems, projects, providing tools for enhancing learning, providing teachers and students more facilities and opportunities for feedback. ICT also helps teachers, students and parents to come together. Teachers must know the use of ICT in their subject areas to help the learners for learning more effectively. So, the knowledge of ICT is very much essential for the both prospective teachers as well as in-service teachers also. This will help teachers to know integrated technology with classroom teaching.

Types of ICT in Science Teaching and Learning

According to BBC (2021)

Information systems

This type of ICT system is focused on managing data and information. Examples of these are a sports club membership system or a supermarket stock system.

Control systems

These ICT systems mainly control machines. They use input, process and output, but the output may be moving a robot arm to weld a car chassis rather than information.

Communications systems

The output of these ICT systems is the successful transport of data from one place to another.

Conclusion

In summary, engaging ICT in all types of education, and making use of technology in education creates an effective and efficient learning environment where the delivery of information much more easier to absorb by the students. Linways Team added (2017) “ICT is definitely the path to take for institutions, especially in countries like ours, as our growth is directly aligned with technology and the field of education is no exception. And assuring higher quality education for its students will define whether the institution should move forward or perish.”
